Skills
Normal Attack
Shoots fireballs that deal up to three counts of Pyro DMG.
When Yanfei's Normal Attacks hit enemies, they will grant her a single Scarlet Seal. Yanfei may possess a maximum of 3 Scarlet Seals, and each time this effect is triggered, the duration of currently possessed Scarlet Seals will refresh.
Each Scarlet Seal will decrease Yanfei's Stamina consumption and will disappear when she leaves the field.
Charged Attack
Consumes Stamina and all Scarlet Seals before dealing AoE Pyro DMG to the opponents after a short casting time.
This Charged Attack's AoE and DMG will increase according to the amount of Scarlet Seals consumed.
Plunging Attack
Gathering the power of Pyro, Yanfei plunges towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in her path. Deals AoE Pyro DMG upon impact with the ground.
Summons blistering flames that deal AoE Pyro DMG.
Opponents hit by the flames will grant Yanfei the maximum number of Scarlet Seals.
Triggers a spray of intense flames that rush at nearby opponents, dealing AoE Pyro DMG, granting Yanfei the maximum number of Scarlet Seals, and applying Brilliance to her.
Brilliance
Has the following effects:
- Grants Yanfei a Scarlet Seal at fixed intervals.
- Increases the DMG dealt by her Charged Attacks.
The effects of Brilliance will end if Yanfei leaves the field or falls in battle.
Passives
Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Liyue on the mini-map.
When Yanfei consumes Scarlet Seals by using a Charged Attack, each Scarlet Seal will increase Yanfei's Pyro DMG Bonus by 5%. This effects [sic] lasts for 6s. When a Charged Attack is used again during the effect's duration, it will dispel the previous effect.
When Yanfei's Charged Attack deals a CRIT Hit to opponents, she will deal an additional instance of AoE Pyro DMG equal to 80% of her ATK. This DMG counts as Charged Attack DMG.
Constellations
When Yanfei uses her Charged Attack, each existing Scarlet Seal additionally reduces the stamina cost of this Charged Attack by 10% and increases resistance against interruption during its release.
Increases Yanfei's Charged Attack CRIT Rate by 20% against enemies below 50% HP.
Increases the Level of Signed Edict by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
When Done Deal is used:
Creates a shield that absorbs up to 45% of Yanfei's Max HP for 15s.
This shield absorbs Pyro DMG 250% more effectively.
Increases the Level of Done Deal by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Increases the maximum number of Scarlet Seals by 1.

Builds
DPS Build
Yanfei's design was intended as a DPS catalyst unit where you allocate a lot of field time for her to output her damage.
Normal Attack > Burst > Skill
Yanfei's charged attacks are integral to her damage. Yanfei's Burst is mostly a buff to her Charged Attacks as the damage is only on the initial cast, explaining the slight priority over her skill.
Talents are the last priority in Overload builds
Main stats: ATK or EM/Pyro/Crit
Substats: Crit/ATK/EM/ER
You will need to find a balance between ATK EM and Crit as is with most reaction-based carries.
Overload Yanfei prefers to run EM/EM/EM as Overload is only dependent on your level and EM stats.
WeaponsMost 5★ catalysts aren't particularly great in general but Lost Prayer and Skyward Atlas are the best stat sticks for Yanfei
The recommended 4 weapon for Yanfei as she can use everything The Widsith has to offer. At R5 it contends for her best weapon.
Recitative: ATK is increased by 60~120%. Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 48~96%.
Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 240~480.Battlepass option
Event exclusive weapons, very good if you have them.
Crit DMG stat stick.
The catalyst with the highest EM substat. The passive doesn't really do much for Yanfei
Useful in raising Yanfei's stats but a loss in personal DPS in Overload. This is more useful as a team-player supporting your other Electro party members.
Only valuable in Overload teams for its EM substat
ArtifactsYanfei's best sets for damage, both are equally well performing but Wanderer's Troupe is easier to farm and more resin efficient. Use the 4pc on which you have better substat rolls.
Combination sets will allow you to fish for better substats.
This is can be good on Yanfei if you value your Burst mostly for the damage buff. Realistically you use this set on Yanfei as you are likely going to get a 4pc set from farming Emblem of Severed Fate
Shield Support Build
This build only works with C4. It's technically a competitor to Thoma but her Energy needs is what keep her just a notch below Thoma.
Talent scalings don't really contribute to what Yanfei does in this build. You can refer to the DPS build if you want to consider general investment.
Main stats: ER or HP/HP/HP
Substats: ER, HP Crit
You'll want a lot of ER (roughly 250+) so its very likely you'll use ER sands over HP
WeaponsShield Support Yanfei's practical choice as it gives a lot of stats with a good utility passive. Refinements are a blessing.
Not as great on Yanfei relative to most support units as you do want some HP for the shield
A luxury option if you can satisfy Yanfei's ER requirements as its passive is very valuable to your party
ArtifactsThis combination set allows you to maximize the substats for greater shield uptime and strength.
Requires high investment as you will need a lot of ER for burst consistency.
