Builds

Anemo DPS build

The Wanderer is an Anemo on-field DPS character who mostly deals damage through his Normal and Charged Attacks, enhanced by his Skill, and his Burst. He attacks mid-air: his Skill gives him the ability to hover as well as a different stamina bar, with a blue-ish color, which will be used for sprinting and lifting. While Wanderer is in his Skill state, his Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased, and CAs do not consume any stamina. He can function as both a Hypercarry (with Faruzan as a teammate) or as an Anemo Driver for elemental teams, which will however decrease his personal damage.

Talent Priority

Normal Attack = Skill > Burst
Both his NA and Skill talents are frequently used in combat, so it is important to invest resources into them. Burst is a not negligible source of damage, it can receive less attention but it's still recommended to level it up eventually.

Stat Priority

Main stats: ATK/Anemo DMG/Crit
Sub stats: ER% (until comfortable) > Crit DMG/Rate > ATK% > EM
Usual offensive stats are recommended on Wanderer to focus his DPS on pure Anemo DMG. He is often played with elemental supports and his kit features Swirl reactions so some EM is useful but not extremely necessary.

Weapon Weapons

Wanderer's signature and best weapon, specifically made for him.

Bygone Azure Teardrop
Normal Attack SPD is increased by 10%. After the wielder unleashes an Elemental Skill, Normal Attack DMG will increase by 4.8% every second for 14s. After this character hits an opponent with a Normal Attack during this duration, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 9.6%. This increase can be triggered once every 0.3s. The maximum Normal Attack DMG increase per single duration of the overall effect is 48%. The effect will be removed when the wielder leaves the field, and using the Elemental Skill again will reset all DMG buffs.

A solid replacement to his signature weapon. Wanderer spends a considerable amount on the field so he is able to fully profit from Lost Prayer's passive effect.

Boundless Blessing
Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8~16% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat.

Great damage

Although The Widsith's passive is situational and has a lot of downtime it is still one of the best possible weapons on Wanderer, especially with refinements.

The Widsith
CRIT DMG
Star Star Star Star
Debut
When a character takes the field, they will gain a random theme song for 10s. This can only occur once every 30s.

Recitative: ATK is increased by 60~120%. Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 48~96%.

Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 240~480.

Solar Pearl has a similar DMG output to Widsith with the only difference that it is not F2P friendly. Its passive synergises well with Wanderer's signature artifacts set as well.

Solar Pearl
CRIT Rate
Star Star Star Star
Solar Shine
Normal Attack hits increase Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 20~40% for 6s. Likewise, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits increase Normal Attack DMG by 20~40% for 6s.

Perhaps the only F2P weapon for Wanderer, less efficient if compared to the ones suggested above but it still provides a solid Crit DMG stat and an ATK increase.

Blackcliff Agate
CRIT DMG
Star Star Star Star
Press the Advantage
After defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 12~24% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.
ATK% stat sticks

Skyward Atlas and Dodoco Tales are ATK stat sticks and have less value if Wanderer receives ATK buffs from his team, however they're still nice options if your crits are balanced. Memory of Dust is also valuable since you will most likely play him with a shield.

Wandering Clouds
Increases Elemental DMG Bonus by 12~24%. Normal Attack hits have a 50% chance to earn the favor of the clouds. which actively seek out nearby opponents to attack for 15s, dealing 160~320% ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 30s.
Dodoventure!
Normal Attack hits on opponents increase Charged Attack DMG by 16~32% for 6s. Charged Attack hits on opponents increase ATK by 8~16% for 6s.
Golden Majesty
Increases Shield Strength by 20~40%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4~8% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
OR

Only suggested for its Crit DMG, passive can't be triggered.

Kagura's Verity
CRIT DMG
Star Star Star Star Star
Kagura Dance of the Sacred Sakura
Gains the Kagura Dance effect when using an Elemental Skill, causing the Elemental Skill DMG of the character wielding this weapon to increase by 12~24% for 16s. Max 3 stacks. This character will gain 12~24% All Elemental DMG Bonus when they possess 3 stacks.
Artifact Artifacts

4pc Pavilion is Wanderer's signature and best set, better than any other recommendation in terms of damage. It only lacks resin efficiency, kinda.

2 Anemo DMG Bonus +15%.
4 When Charged Attacks hit opponents, the equipping character's Normal Attack SPD will increase by 10% while Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG will increase by 40% for 15s.

4pc Shimenawa on the contrary is more efficient to farm and still provides a similar NA/CA DMG output. It will however take Energy from your Burst to work and it might be tricky to utilize in some occasions. It is recommended to use this set temporarily and switch it to a 4pc Paviliob later on.

2 ATK +18%.
4 When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s. This effect will not trigger again during that duration.

Any combination

2pc combinations of +15% Anemo DMG and +18% ATK are less effective but easier to farm and balance stats.

2 Anemo DMG Bonus +15%.

2 ATK +18%.
Anemo Driver

Without Faruzan's shredding and buffing abilities, Wanderer is best played as a reactions driver. 4pc VV sacrifices his personal damage to support his team.

2 Anemo DMG Bonus +15%.
4 Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent's Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s.
Early Game (Pre-AR 45)

4pc Berserker is basically a Crit Rate stat stick but it is game changing at the early stages of your journey.

2 CRIT Rate +12%.
4 When HP is below 70%, CRIT Rate increases by an additional 24%.
