- Unique Swirl interactions (Cryo priority over Pyro)

- DPS is wholly reliant on Swirls

Builds
Elemental Mastery Support Build
Simply put, having an Anemo character is already valuable and you already have Traveler. While their grouping mechanics are not ideal, having some form of grouping as well as the value of Viridescent Venerer and the general power of Swirls allows your team to clear difficult content with good efficiency.
Skill > Burst
Practically speaking, talent investment isn't a priority as the bulk of your damage comes from Swirl reactions. Its also difficult to land all the hits of your Burst limiting the actual damage your Burst could deal.
Main Stats: ER or EM/EM/EM
Substats: ER (enough to consistently Burst)/EM
Don't worry too much about the main stats. Ideally you just run as much EM as possible, so in ideal scenarios you would have an EM main stat and then have other good stats like ER on your sub stats. Running an ATK% Sands or Anemo Dmg% Goblet will be perfectly fine if you have good EM subs on them.

Luxury option, its the best weapon for Traveler due to the additional buffs it gives to your party along with better stats. While 5★ options offer more stats than 4★ weapons, this is the only one that really gets a recommendation.
A part of the "Millennial Movement" that wanders amidst the winds.
Increases DMG by 10~20%.
When the character wielding this weapon triggers Elemental Reactions, they gain a Sigil of Rebellion. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field.
When you possess 2 Sigils of Rebellion, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" for 12s.
"Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" increases Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG by 16~32% and increases ATK by 20~40%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Rebellion for 20s.
Of the many effects of the "Millennial Movement," buffs of the same type will not stack.Traveler's best option when you have enough ER without the weapon.
ER is an important stat for Traveler to consistently Burst. Sacrificial wants refines for consistency, Favonius needs Crit Rate for consistency and Amenoma Kageuchi's ATK% substat isn't as useful for Traveler as Swirl only uses EM.
Event exclusive option, if you have it, use it.

Viridescent Venerer is what really defines Traveler's optimized role in teams. Having the 4PC set bonus is more important than getting good substats.
Useful if you have another VV user or if the shred will not be utilized (e.g., Xiao, Geo DPS, etc.).
Instructor gives the Traveler and your team some extra EM, it'll come in hand.
Anemo DPS Build
The Traveler may not be a good Main DPS if compared to other characters, but their damage potential isn't as bad as it seems, especially with easily obtainable constellations. This build, however, is more expensive in terms of farming and weapon choices.
Skill > Burst > Normal Attack
Traveler's source of damage is mostly their Elemental Skill. Using their Elemental Butst may be troubling as it only gathers smaller enemies and fails most of the times, but it can be useful if you find a way to block/direct the tornado with a wall or Geo Construct like Zhongli's pillar. Their normal attack deals an Anemo slash with N5, but its damage isn't high enough to effectively use it in combat.
Main Stats: ATK / Anemo DMG / Crit Rate or DMG
Substats: Crit Rate/DMG > ATK% > ER%
Make sure to have at least 1800 ATK and a 1:2 Crit Ratio, ideally 60 Crit Rate and 120 Crit DMG, but you can aim for a higher ratio if you equip a Crit weapon.

These weapons are hard to get but they perform similarly in terms of damage. You may use one based on your artifact substats, so that your Crit Ratio will be balanced.
Gain a 12~24% Elemental DMG Bonus for every element and receive the might of Mistsplitter's Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, Mistsplitter's Emblem provides a 8/16/28~16/32/56% Elemental DMG Bonus for the character's Elemental Type.
The character will obtain 1 stack of Mistsplitter's Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals Elemental DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Burst (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack's duration is calculated independently. These weapons can be used as ATK stat sticks, if you need some. You may play Traveler with either a Pyro or Electro character to make use of Lion's Roar's passive.
ATK is increased by 20~40%.
Triggers on taking DMG: the soul of the Falcon of the West awakens, holding the banner of the resistance aloft, regenerating HP equal to 100~160% of ATK and dealing 200~320% of ATK as DMG to surrounding opponents. This effect can only occur once every 15s.These weapons can be used as Crit stat sticks. The Black Sword's passive isn't really useful as you won't use normal and charged attacks with the Traveler.
A very valuable weapon in terms of Crit value, but it sadly has a very low base ATK. Furthermore, its passive may be hard to keep active without a shield or consistent healing, but if you're looking for a easily accessible and usable weapon, go for it.

If you're looking for a way to increase the Traveler's DPS potential, then you may use 2 piece VV and any type of 2 piece +18% ATK.
This set gives a lot of Crit Rate and it might help you in doing more consistent damage.
