Best Build for Nilou in Genshin Impact

Pros & Cons
- Dual On-Off Field playstyle
- Her talents alter a reaction mechanic, bringing something new to the table
- Easy to build and F2P friendly: her damage scales off HP, and talent level up isn't a priority due to Bloom scalings' nature
- Her best team is made of free units
- Niche but very effective
- Excellent DPR in both AoE and Single Target scenarios
- Locked to a only Hydro and Dendro team
- Crowd Control, Shielding and 4pc VV aren't accessible
- Nilou can fit in teams such as Vaporize and Freeze buth both her passive talents won't be put to use
- Needs a healer (Dendro Cores inflict self damage)
- Teammates need to carry EM in their builds as Bloom ownership is pretty much random
- Relies on Dendro units
- Nilou's team struggles against Cryo shields

Builds
Nilou is both a On-Field and Off-Field Bloom DPS. Her damage and playstyle are centered around the Bloom reaction (Dendro + Hydro). Nilou's Skill consists of 4 Hydro hits and upon casting the fourth one she enters in two different stances:
- If you use her Elemental Skill as 4th hit, Nilou will create a Hydro ring that applies the element and doesn't deal damage. She is meant to be played Off-Field. (The Skill icon will change before this hit is dealt)
- If you use her Normal Attack as 4th hit, Nilou will deal Hydro DMG with her normal attacks. This is the On-Field stance.
Use both versions at your better convenience. It's recommended to start the battle with the Off Field version, so that you can trigger reactions even while setting up.
Skill > Burst
Bloom DMG doesn't consider talent multipliers so they shouldn't be taken into priority. Normal Attacks talent ismuseless as the On-Field stance deals DMG based on Skill's multipliers
Main stats: HP%/HP% or Hydro DMG%/HP%
Sub stats: HP%/ER%/HP/Crit/EM
Nilou appreciates HP a lot. It is recommended to have around 100-130% ER% to cast Burst every other rotation. Crits are fine as substats but shouldn't be prioritized over HP. Hydro DMG goblet gives her more Burst/personal DMG at the cost of 2-3k less DMG from blooms.

Nilou's signature weapon, which perfectly fits her playstyle.
4 star alternatives that give EM and have useful passive abilities. Refinements are recommended.
Both Sacrificial and Favonius provide ER% to Nilou and extra particles to the team. Consider using these if you want to use Nilou's Burst in every rotation.
Freedom-Sworn gives a great amount of EM but its passive isn't of any use in Nilou's team.
A part of the "Millennial Movement" that wanders amidst the winds.
Increases DMG by 10~20%.
When the character wielding this weapon triggers Elemental Reactions, they gain a Sigil of Rebellion. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field.
When you possess 2 Sigils of Rebellion, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" for 12s.
"Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" increases Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG by 16~32% and increases ATK by 20~40%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Rebellion for 20s.
Of the many effects of the "Millennial Movement," buffs of the same type will not stack. It isn't really recommended to run a Crit weapon on Nilou, but it's indeed viable for better personal damage.
Gain a 12~24% Elemental DMG Bonus for every element and receive the might of Mistsplitter's Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, Mistsplitter's Emblem provides a 8/16/28~16/32/56% Elemental DMG Bonus for the character's Elemental Type.
The character will obtain 1 stack of Mistsplitter's Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals Elemental DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Burst (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack's duration is calculated independently.
Any combination of 2pc Tenacity + one of the listed sets will do the trick.
This set is recommended only if no other party members are suitable for holding it (they will most likely be able to though)
Nilou is able to trigger vaporize if played with a strong Pyro enabler such as Xiangling. Note that this build doesn't reflect the way Nilou is intended to be played. Check the Bloom DPS build for her best setup.
Skill = Burst
In this build talent scalings are very important and need considerable investment.
Main stats: HP%/Hydro DMG%/Crit
Sub stats: ER (until comfortable with Burst uptime)/Crit/HP/EM
Crit stats and EM are very valuable here, considering how Vaporize works.

Nilou's signature weapon will outdamage any other option in this setup as well. Best in slot.
Any 5 star Crit weapon is also great on a Vaporize Nilou. Harbinger of Dawn is also on par with these expensive options thanks to Nilou's HP scaling, that makes its low base ATK irrelevant.

Any combination of 2pc Tenacity + one of the listed sets is the best possible equipment on a Vaporize DPS Nilou.
