Skills

Normal Attack
Perform up to 6 consecutive shots with a bow.
Charged Attack
Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.
While aiming, an icy aura will accumulate on the arrowhead before the arrow is fired. Has different effects based on how long the energy has been charged:
- Charge Level 1: Fires off an icy arrow that deals Cryo DMG.
- Charge Level 2: Fires off a Frostflake Arrow that deals Cryo DMG. The Frostflake Arrow blooms after hitting its target, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
Plunging Attack
Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Leaving a single Ice Lotus behind, Ganyu dashes backward, shunning all impurity and dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
Ice Lotus
- Continuously taunts surrounding opponents, attracting them to attack it.
- Endurance scales based on Ganyu's Max HP.
- Blooms profusely when destroyed or once its duration ends, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.

Coalesces atmospheric frost and snow to summon a Sacred Cryo Pearl that exorcises evil.
During its ability duration, the Sacred Cryo Pearl will continuously rain down shards of ice, striking opponents within an AoE and dealing Cryo DMG.
Passives

Refunds 15% of the ores used when Forging Bow-type weapons.

After firing a Frostflake Arrow, the CRIT Rate of subsequent Frostflake Arrows and their resulting bloom effects is increased by 20% for 5s.

Celestial Shower grants a 20% Cryo DMG Bonus to active members in the AoE.
Constellations

Taking DMG from a Charge Level 2 Frostflake Arrow or Frostflake Arrow Bloom decreases opponents' Cryo RES by 15% for 6s.
A hit regenerates 2 Energy for Ganyu. This effect can only occur once per Charge Level 2 Frostflake Arrow, regardless if Frostflake Arrow itself or its Bloom hit the target.

Trail of the Qilin gains 1 additional charge.

Increases the Level of Celestial Shower by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Opponents standing within the AoE of Celestial Shower take increased DMG. This effect strengthens over time.
Increased DMG taken begins at 5% and increases by 5% every 3s, up to a maximum of 25%.
The effect lingers for 3s after the opponent leaves the AoE.

Increases the Level of Trail of the Qilin by 3.

Builds
Reverse Melt DPS Build
This build focuses on Ganyu's ability to trigger reverse melt with both hits of her charged attack to deal damage. Requires a teammate who can consistently apply Pyro.
Normal Attack >>> Skill > Burst
Most of her damage will come from charged attacks so prioritize her normal attack talent. Her skill does negligible damage and her burst can interfere with reverse melt setups so there is no need to level them up.
Main stats: ATK or EM/Cryo DMG/Crit
Substats: Crit/EM/ATK
EM is a great stat for a Reverse Melt Ganyu, but overstacking it should be avoided due to diminishing returns. If she does not receive any EM from artifact set bonuses or external sources, EM sands can be taken instead of ATK sands. It is recommended to use EM sands if you can achieve around 2000 ATK without an ATK sands.

These 5★ weapons provide massive offensive stats to Ganyu. In cases where enemies have a weak point, Crit Rate loses its value since weak point hits are guaranteed Crits.
Despite being a 4★ F2P weapon, the Prototype Crescent at high refinements can outperform most R1 gacha weapons. R5 Prototype Crescent provides an unrivaled ATK buff against enemies with weak points.
Since Ganyu does not use her burst in a reverse melt setup, she makes full use of the passive. Hamayumi performs just as well as Prototype Crescent but it misses out on flexibility.
The Blackcliff Warbow performs very well due to its Crit DMG and ATK buff from its passive. Although the passive is powerful especially with refinements and stacks, it can be inconsistent since stacks cannot be obtained when fighting a single tanky enemy.

This set offers the highest possible damage, as long as Ganyu can maintain her Energy above 15. Do not use this set with Hamayumi since its passive conflicts with the 4PC effect.
This set offers excellent damage on Ganyu although the set itself isn't as easy to farm. It is slightly weaker than Shimenawa but does not have any conflicts with weapons.
These 2PC set combinations are weaker in terms of damage but are much easier to farm.
Freeze DPS Build
This build focuses on Ganyu's ability to quickly freeze a large group of enemies. Performs best on a team with CC and consistent Hydro application.
Burst >= Normal Attack > Skill
Most of her damage will come from her burst and charged attacks which are more effective when enemies are grouped together. Her skill does negligible damage and is not a priority.
Main stats: ATK/Cryo DMG/Crit DMG
Substats: Crit DMG/ER/ATK/Crit Rate
Try to stack as much Crit DMG as possible since 4PC Blizzard Strayer, Cryo resonance, and her A1 passive talent already provide a lot of Crit Rate.

These weapons can cause Ganyu to exceed 100% Crit Rate, which hurts her stat efficiency.

4PC Blizzard Strayer provides up to 40% Crit Rate on frozen enemies, allowing Ganyu to fully focus on Crit DMG and ATK stats.
These sets are weaker but usable if you are still farming for 4PC Blizzard.
Off-Field DPS Build
Ganyu's burst has 100% uptime since it has a cooldown and duration of 15 seconds. This makes her burst a very good source of Cryo, and her burst damage becomes a lot more effective against grouped enemies. Her skill can help group enemies inside her burst since it also taunts.
Burst > Skill > Normal Attacks
Most of her damage will come from her burst which becomes more effective as more enemies are grouped together. Her skill is another priority since she will need to cast it often to recharge her burst. Leveling her skill increases its damage and HP, which should slightly increase the taunt uptime. The normal attack talent is not as much of a priority especially if she uses weapons or artifacts that do not contribute to her charged attacks. It is still worth leveling up a little though since there are some weapon passive that are triggered by a charged attack.
Main stats: ER or ATK/Cryo DMG/Crit
Substats: Crit/ER/ATK
Since there aren't any offense-based ER bows, Ganyu can only receive ER from artifacts. This limits 4PC Emblem to only be slightly better, so avoid overstacking ER. When using a freeze team/4PC Blizzard, try to maximize ATK and Crit DMG.

Despite being a 4★ F2P weapon, the Prototype Crescent at high refinements can outperform most R1 gacha weapons. R5 Prototype Crescent provides an unrivaled ATK buff, as long as Ganyu triggers the passive before casting her burst.
Amos' Bow provides a ton of ATK, but the passive does not contribute much to her burst damage. This weapon can be outranked by other 4★ bows with high refinements.
Alley Hunter is very powerful with its ATK stats and passive. Ganyu can easily maintain the full passive bonus with her minimal field time. This weapon becomes even more powerful at higher refinements.
Although the EM stat is wasted on Freeze teams, the passive provides a massive boost to her burst damage, especially at higher refinements.
The Elegy for the End has a great balance between damage, burst uptime, and utility. Ganyu's burst can quickly activate the passive, providing EM and ATK to the team. This weapon can end up as ineffective if another team member is using Freedom-Sworn or Song of Broken Pines, as the ATK buff from the passive does not stack.
Although these weapons have Crit as their second stat, their performances are dependent on keeping their passives active. Even at higher refinements they still end up on par with R5 Prototype Crescent.
These weapons do not contribute much to Ganyu's damage but they're still worth mentioning and open Ganyu to more possible team compositions. They either help generating energy for the team or to keep Ganyu's burst up consistently.

4PC Blizzard Strayer provides up to 40% Crit Rate on frozen enemies, allowing Ganyu to fully focus on Crit DMG and ATK stats. Only take this if Ganyu is in a freeze team.
This set combination is a cheap and effective build to boost Ganyu's burst damage. Additionally, having 2PC Blizzard makes it easier to convert Ganyu into a 4PC Blizzard Freeze DPS.
This set can theoretically provide massive bonus DMG from ER stats, however, the lack of offense-based ER bows limits the set's bonus DMG. This set is not recommended due to its minor advantage over 2PC Blizzard/Noblesse, difficulty in farming, and lack of flexibility.
If 2PC Blizzard/Noblesse is not yet complete, these sets can be used as weaker substitutes.
This provides a decent buff to Ganyu's burst while buffing the rest of your team. Only recommended if no one else can use this set. When ombined with Elegy for the End, Ganyu can provide massive buffs to the rest of the team.
