Pros & Cons
- Straightforward playstyle
- Building Diluc is also pretty straightforward
- Crit-rate ascension stat and high base attack make it easier to bring out his potential.
- Decent weapon selection
- Good matchup versus shielded enemies
- Limited Reaction potential
- Doesn't have great Artifact flexibility (wants 4pc set)
- Can't use Freeze-Melt (does Freeze-Shatter instead)
- While Diluc does a lot of reaction damage, he can't abuse reactions to make a super-majority of his damage reaction based.
- Optimized comps are very limited

Builds
DPS Build
Diluc demands a lot of field-time generally making him a DPS character who can maximize a supporting cast. As a Pyro unit, Diluc has access to Melt and Vaporize which scale very well with the damage you invest into him. Currently his best builds revolve around Weakside Vaporize or Reverse Vaporize which allows Diluc better reaction uptime over Melt comps.
Skill = Normal = Burst
There are differences based on what builds you play but even then you'll want to keep Diluc's talent levels well within each other as they all play an integral role towards his damage.
Main stats: EM or ATK/Pyro/Crit
Substats: Crit/ATK/EM/ER
Diluc shouldn't need the ER provided from ER sands, while ER substats are nice but would rather go towards EM or ATK. EM or ATK will depend more on external sources like your weapon and party members. Ideally you choose based on substats but it is worth noting that ATK will generally feel better as EM is only valuable if you can efficiently play Diluc and get as much reactions as possible.

While ATK is not Crit, its still a good stat and having a lot of it is nice
It's a good weapon but due to Diluc's "average" reaction rate lowering the value of Elemental Mastery and the weapon's passive. Regardless it's a very good option.
Recommended if you have good shield uptime

Crimson Witch of Flames was made for Diluc, and no other set really comes close when it comes to stat-efficiency
