Best Build for Candace in Genshin Impact

Pros & Cons
- Normal Attacks buffer
- Unique Hydro Infusion mechanic
- Cheap to build
- Constellations dependent (C1 and C2 are very important)
- Needs a considerable amount of ER% for decent Burst uptime
- Low DPS potential
- Currently existing characters do not profit from her significantly
- Candace has little if no uses at all since Yun Jin, another Normal Attack buffer, has better scalings, uptime and constellations
- Although she provides Hydro infusion, its Gauge isn't high enough to enable reverse Vaporize
- Candace can't enable Xiangling. DPS Candace uses Xiangling as her enabler
Skills

Normal Attack
Performs up to four consecutive spear strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to enemies along the way.
Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Tap
Rushes forward with her shield, dealing Hydro DMG to opponents in front of her.
Hold
Raises her shield to block incoming attacks from nearby opponents, forming a barrier that absorbs DMG based on her Max HP and absorbs Hydro DMG 250% more effectively. This barrier lasts until the Elemental Skill is unleashed.
After holding for a certain period of time, Candace will finish charging, and when the skill button is released, the skill duration expires, or when the barrier is broken, she will perform a leaping strike that deals Hydro DMG to opponents in front of her.

Raising her weapon high, Candace calls upon a divine blessing that deals AoE Hydro DMG based on her Max HP and continuously confers the Prayer of the Crimson Crown on your active character.
Prayer of the Crimson Crown
This effect has the following properties:
- Characters deal increased Elemental DMG with their Normal Attacks.
- Whenever a character takes the field, they will unleash a rippling wave of water that deals Hydro DMG to nearby opponents. There is a limited number of waves that can be triggered in the duration of this skill.
- Sword, Claymore, and Polearm-wielding characters under this effect will obtain a Hydro Infusion.
Passives

Decreases climbing Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

If Candace is hit by an attack in the Hold duration of Sacred Rite: Heron's Sanctum, that skill will finish charging instantly.

Characters affected by the Prayer of the Crimson Crown caused by Sacred Rite: Wagtail's Tide will deal 0.5% increased DMG to opponents for every 1,000 points of Candace's Max HP when they deal Elemental DMG with their Normal Attacks.
Constellations

The duration of Prayer of the Crimson Crown effect triggered by Sacred Rite: Wagtail's Tide is increased by 3s.

When Sacred Rite: Heron's Sanctum hits opponents, Candace's Max HP will be increased by 20% for 15s.

Increases the Level of Sacred Rite: Wagtail's Tide by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Shortens the Hold CD of Sacred Rite: Heron's Sanctum to be the same as that of the Tapping CD.

Increases the Level of Sacred Rite: Heron's Sanctum by 3.

When characters (excluding Candace herself) affected by the Prayer of the Crimson Crown caused by Sacred Rite: Wagtail's Tide deal Elemental DMG to opponents using Normal Attacks, an attack wave will be unleashed that deals AoE Hydro DMG equal to 15% of Candace's Max HP.
This effect can trigger once every 2.3s and is considered Elemental Burst DMG.

Builds
Support Build
Candace is a HP scaling Normal Attack buffer. This build takes advantage from her Burst's +20% DMG bonus on infused normal attacks as well as her A4 passive talent to buff other Normal Attack users in the party. She can also be used in teams in need of a Hydro applier such as Bloom (and related reactions) and Freeze.
Candace's talent levels only increase her damage, so in this build levelling them is unnecessary.
Main stats: ER or HP/HP/HP or Crit Rate
Substats: Crit Rate/HP/ER
Crit rate is important on Candace if you run Favonius Lance. Generally speaking, a Crit Rate circlet will be enough to substitute for Crit Rate substats and vice versa.
Around 180-220% ER% is needed for smoother rotations. Make sure to prioritise this stat before eventually stacking HP.

Favonius Lance is Candace's best in slot weapon. It further boosts her Energy generation and team utility. Needs at least 40% Crit Rate to work properly!
Black Tassel is a cheap 3 star weapon that provides Candace with a good amount of HP%. Candace scales her utility (and damage too) off HP so this weapon's low base ATK isn't a problem at all.
Alternatively, any ER% polearm works on Candace as a stat stick. Most of these weapons however would find a better use on other characters.

Tenacity should be one of the 2PC sets since its HP% buff helps with Candace's buff. The other 2PC set is meant to contribute in her ER requirements.
Consider using 4pc Noblesse if nobody else on the team is carrying it. It gives a universal ATK buff to all your party members:
Hydro DPS Build
If you really want Candace to deal damage consider playing her in a Vaporize team. Her damage is HP based as well so with this higher level of investment you get both buffing capabilities and damage. Constellations recommended.
Burst > Skill
Candace's Burst is her main source of damage for both the Hydro infusion and the damage she deals when a character leaves the field. Skill is less important but not negligible either.
Main stats: ER% or HP or EM / Hydro DMG% / HP or Crit DMG or Crit Rate
Substats: HP / ER% / EM / Crit / ATK
Candace's talents deal damage through HP so it's important to invest into her health. Crits are also nice to have but less relevant than HP and ER%, and EM in Vaporize specifically.

Staff of Homa offers a good amount of Crit DMG and a fully functional passive.
Prototype Starglitter helps with Candace's ER needs and boosts her damage through its passive. Refinements are also nice to have.
Black tassel too provides a useful HP stat and does not have any downsides.
These weapons provide Candace with a solid EM increase, which will favor her Vaporize DMG. Dragon's bane specifically is extremely good on her.

4pc Emblem takes advantage from Candace's high ER needs by increasing her DMG.
As long as your artifacts stats give Hydro DMG, HP, ER, EM or ATK, you're good to go.
Worth using only if already owned. Do not farm for this set specifically for Candace.
