Best Build for Beidou in Genshin Impact

Pros & Cons
- Excellent DPS unit
- One of the highest DPS ceilings in the game
- Flexible as you just want a driver/trigger for her Burst
- Core of most Taser comps
- Powerful constellations
- Great unit available in Paimon's Bargains
- C2 is a massive damage increase (up to 66% damage increase)
- As an early constellation, some would advise not using Beidou until she's C2
- Needs multiple targets (Ideally 2) to unlock damage
- Flexible with energy requirements but you'll generally want to bring an Electro battery
- Lacks access to reactions that scale up her own damage
- Hard to optimize stats

Normal Attack
Perform up to 5 consecutive strikes.
Charged Attack
Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous slashes.
At the end of the sequence, perform a more powerful slash.
Plunging Attack

Nothing to worry about. Should anyone raise a hand against her or her men, she will avenge it ten-fold with sword and thunder.
Press

Hold
Lifts her weapon up as a shield. Max DMG absorbed scales off Beidou's Max HP.

The shield possesses the following properties:
- Has 250% Electro DMG Absorption Efficiency.
- Applies the Electro element to Beidou upon activation.

Recalling her slaying of the great beast Haishan, Beidou calls upon that monstrous strength and the lightning to create a Thunderbeast's Targe around herself, dealing Electro DMG to nearby opponents.
Thunderbeast's Targe
- When Normal and Charged Attacks hit, they create a lightning discharge that can jump between opponents, dealing Electro DMG.
- Increases the character's resistance to interruption, and decreases DMG taken.
A maximum of 1 lightning discharge can be triggered per second.
Passives

Decreases swimming Stamina consumption of your characters in the party by 20%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

Counterattacking with Tidecaller at the precise moment when the character is hit grants the maximum DMG Bonus.

Gain the following effects for 10s after unleashing Tidecaller with its maximum DMG Bonus:
- DMG dealt by Normal and Charged Attacks is increased by 15%. ATK SPD of Normal and Charged Attacks is increased by 15%.
- Greatly reduced delay before unleashing Charged Attacks.
Constellations

When Stormbreaker is used:
Creates a shield that absorbs up to 16% of Beidou's Max HP for 15s.

Stormbreaker's arc lightning can jump to 2 additional targets.

Builds
Off-Field DPS Build
Beidou can be an On-field DPS but her kit was designed with flexibility of having other units trigger her Burst so playing her as an Off-field DPS plays towards that strength. Regardless of field-time, Beidou will deal lots of damage and its better to play through her (with your trigger as a co-star/enabler) rather than have her support your trigger.
Burst > Skill
Most of Beidou's damage comes from her burst, her counters can do a good amount of damage if you can consistently land them.
Main stats: ATK/Electro/Crit
Substats: Crit/ATK/ER
In optimized builds, you really don't want to sacrifice the ATK% sands piece for an ER sands piece.

Wolf's Gravestone is ranked highest due to its massive ATK stats as well as its team ATK buff from its passive.
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (TTDS) or Bennett allows this weapon to push past Wolf's Gravestone. Beidou's Burst being static/snapshot allows her to bypass the downsides of the passive. Overall, Serpent Spine provides a lot of stats that at R1 its a fine weapon and at R5 this can be her best weapon.
On Beidou's common comps this weapon beats R5 Sea-Lord at R1. R3 is the comfortable breakpoint and at R5 it's better than most 5★ weapons.
Relevant in comps that need more ER. Overcapping ER on Beidou hurts this weapon's ranking over alternatives.
This weapon is only relevant if you can consistently get good skill counters as Beidou.
Beidou's main F2P weapon. It provides lots of ATK and burst DMG buff but it is unfortunately an event-exclusive weapon.
Slightly worse stats than Sea-Lord but a cost-effective option.
It's a good weapon but it relies on keeping its passive active for full potential. Additionally, 24 starglitter is expensive.
Beidou does count towards the passive and it needs refines for the passive to truly shine.

In general the best set for Beidou as you may feel the need for extra ER to comfortably Burst. Farming for this set is generally advised as this set is very good on a lot of units.
Better than Emblem of Severed Fate at low ER but also has the flexibility of being 2PC units. This flexibility helps increase your overall DPS.
These set combinations are weaker in terms of damage but are much easier to farm.
If you have good 4pc set for Beidou this can be an option. Would not go out of my way to farm for this set.
Beidou is usually deals the most damage in her parties so using 4pc Noblesse in a support context may not be the best use of your resources.
