Builds
Cryo DPS Build
Ayaka is the strongest Cryo DPS and has great performances even at C0 and with free to play weapons. Building Ayaka is mostly a matter of balancing ER stat with more offensive stats. Freeze teams with Blizzard Strayer help provide a lot of Crit value along with keeping enemies within your Burst's range. Ayaka's skills don't offer much scalability in Melt teams. While Ayaka can work as a secondary DPS option, this emphasizes the ER challenges you will need to solve in her team-building.
Burst >= Normal Attack > Skill
Ayaka's main source of damage is her burst, which is also a great disadvantage as it's easy to miss if enemies aren't frozen. Her best combo is: Cast Burst -> Cast Skill -> spam Charged Attacks. This combo might vary based on the equipped weapon, more info later. Burst is worth crowning.
Main stats: ATK/Cryo DMG/Crit Damage
Substats: ER(until comfortable Burst uptime)/Crit/ATK
Ayaka's 80 cost Burst does open up a few debates whether or not she can afford to run an ER sands over ATK but in a lot of optimized teams her ER problems are solvable with ER substats and even then you really want a lot of damage from Ayaka. In Freeze teams you're more likely to overcap on Crit Rate so the safer bet is to fully stack Crit DMG instead.

Ayaka's personal weapon and the best sword in the game currently. Doesn't do much to solve Ayaka's Energy problems sadly. Combo: N1 -> Burst -> Skill -> Charged Attacks
Gain a 12~24% Elemental DMG Bonus for every element and receive the might of Mistsplitter's Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, Mistsplitter's Emblem provides a 8/16/28~16/32/56% Elemental DMG Bonus for the character's Elemental Type.
The character will obtain 1 stack of Mistsplitter's Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals Elemental DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Burst (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack's duration is calculated independently. Each refine is roughly equivalent to 5 ER giving you a range of 20 to 40 ER on this weapon. Along with the ATK substat this is easily Ayaka's best F2P option. You may cast your burst once every 3 elemental skills.
It is not recommended to spend starglitter on weapons, however Blackcliff Longsword is a good option with similar DMG output to Amenoma Kageuchi. Based on your artifact rolls you may use the one that adjust your stats.
Viable options if you need the ER substat. The passive isn't that useful on Ayaka, so it's not really an upgrade over Amenoma Kageuchi.
CRIT Rate increased by 4~8%.
Gains Skypiercing Might upon using Elemental Burst: Increases Movement SPD by 10%, increases ATK SPD by 10%, and Normal and Charged hits deal additional DMG equal to 20~40% of ATK. Skypiercing Might lasts for 12s.What makes Summit Shaper good on Ayaka is the massive amount of ATK that it offers, even without the passive. Freeze carries can reach the "diminishing returns" of Crit nudging the balance with ATK. While it does offer more damage than Amenoma, it's important to remember that Ayaka's problems are more towards her Energy and Burst consistency.
Even though Crit Rate is not a desired stat on Ayaka, these weapons are really good and usable even if your Crit Rate will overcap. If you have them, use them, but there are better replacements. Crit Rate gains value if 4pc Blizzard Strayer can't be fully utilized.
Physical DMG Bonus is useless but this weapon provides high base ATK & emergency healing. If you happen to own this weapon though, consider equipping it on Bennett and not Ayaka.
ATK is increased by 20~40%.
Triggers on taking DMG: the soul of the Falcon of the West awakens, holding the banner of the resistance aloft, regenerating HP equal to 100~160% of ATK and dealing 200~320% of ATK as DMG to surrounding opponents. This effect can only occur once every 15s.This weapon gives a huge amount of Crit stats and it's ranked pretty well among the many suitable weapons for Ayaka. A solid pick in early game but it has its value even in late game. Make sure to refine it to Rank 5.

Ayaka's constant Cryo application allows her to make full use of the 4PC effect which provides massive Crit Rate, allowing you to fully focus on Crit DMG substats.
Ayaka's balance between Energy and Offense has an interesting answer in the Emblem set. While its not recommended over Blizzard Strayer you may have a 4pc set lying around and is your best option for teams that don't use the Freeze reaction (ie. Mono Cryo).
Temporary choiche if you're still farming for 4pc Blizzard Strayer or either you own perfectly rolled Noblesse pieces.
